138th Church Anniversary

A Day of Celebration: Church Anniversary and Mortgage Burning Ceremony

On this momentous day, Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church celebrated a rich legacy of faith, dedication, and growth during our church anniversary service. It was a day filled with joy, reflection, and gratitude as we honored our past and looked ahead to the future.

Mortgage Burning: A Milestone of Faith

One of the highlights of today's service was the Mortgage Burning Ceremony, marking a significant achievement in our church’s history. The burning of the mortgage was a powerful symbol of God's continued provision and the collective dedication of our congregation. This moment was more than a financial milestone; it represented the deep faith, unity, and hard work of every member of Pilgrim Rest who contributed to this accomplishment.

As we burned the mortgage, we remembered the sacrifices and commitment that brought us to this day and thanked God for guiding us along the way. The ceremony was a reminder of what we can achieve when we come together in faith, and it inspires us to continue growing and serving in His name.

Honoring Our Oldest Members

In addition to the mortgage burning, we had the privilege of recognizing two very special members of our congregation—our Oldest Members, whose lifelong devotion to Pilgrim Rest serves as a testament to their enduring faith and commitment to our church family.

We were honored to recognize:

  • Brother Robert McDonald, our Oldest Male Member, whose presence and wisdom have been a guiding light for many years.

  • Sister Ethel Canada, our Oldest Female Member, who has long been a pillar of faith within our church.

Their steadfast love for Pilgrim Rest and their example of faith-filled living have enriched our community in countless ways, and we are truly blessed by their ongoing legacy.

A Special Message from Reverend Dr. Derrick Jackson

We were blessed to have Reverend Dr. Derrick Jackson from First Baptist Church in Gallatin, TN, deliver a powerful message titled "I Still Remember" from Lamentations 3:21-23. Reverend Jackson reminded us of God's unchanging faithfulness and His mercies that are renewed every morning. His message was a heartfelt reminder that even in our toughest times, we can hold on to the promises of God.

A Day of Gratitude and Fellowship

As we reflect on today’s service, we are filled with gratitude for all that God has done and continues to do through Pilgrim Rest. From the Memorial Candlelight Ceremony to the recognition of our Golden Members and newest members, it was a day that brought our church family closer together in fellowship and faith.

We look forward to the continued journey ahead, knowing that God has great things in store for Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. To Him be the glory for the great things He has done—and will continue to do!
